THE NEWEST MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY

Yep!! Abbey has finally arrived. She came into our family officially on Dec 10th weighing in at 7.3 and 19 inches long..she is totally beautiful. UMMM hello I am her aunt!! :0) Let me give you a little information about her name. My little sister Shannon was named after the river Shannon in Ireland, well her and her hubby Chris went with my Dad and Ginny, to Ireland last year I think it was anyways, off the river Shannon is the river Abbey, and her middle name is Rae after our mother Susan Rae. Morgan also has the same middle name. She of course was tickled pink that Abbey and her have the same middle name from Grandma. Mom must be feeling pretty darn special I am sure. I wish Mom was here to hold this new little package, but I'm sure she gave Abbey a list of things to do for her Mom. (Shannon was not always the little angel she thinks she was..LOL) I can't wait to see her live and in person...January here we come. LOVE YA SHANNON...YOU DID GOOD GIRL!!

Well this week was the week of programs. We went to watch Paige in the 7th grade orchestra program on Thursday night. She was, needless to say, very very nervous. She paced all morning until school and then after as well. She did an awesome job and to my surprise, she invited my laurels advisor Christy, who did her hair for the big night, and my Beehive counselor Katie, who also teaches her violin, to come and watch her perform, and they came!!! What great women!! That really made her night. Not only did they come but their spouses and their cute little girls. Today we went and watched Morgan at her DARE program. Officier Gordon from the Spanish Fork City Police department has been coming to the school now for the last 10 weeks to teach kids to stay away from drugs. Several songs were sung, awards handed out and pictures after.

Getting rid of the Halloween Candy...OOPS

Sick of your kids eating that Halloween candy for breakfast, lunch and dinner well I have the best way to get rid of that problem. Just following the following instructions..first place halloween candy in a nice tupperware container. (Preslie and Masons were in the same bowl. Paige and Morgan, however, decided to have their own gallon size bag of candy.) Next neatly stash them into your oven for safe keeping. The little ones can't open the door and when the dogs come in for the night they can't get a midnight treat either.

Now your candy is safe right? Well NO!! actually it's not...being the Young Womens President in my ward and trying to do it all myself (not because help wasn't offered but just because I'm being stubburn) I decided to start baking the YW in Excellence treat for Sunday. Well I was doing good...got everything mixed in the bowl, kids were playing nicely in their room and preheated the oven...oh ya!! To my surprise I saved myself hundreds of dollars worth of dental work and got rid of the halloween candy. YA me!! LOL As you can tell from the pictures I had a mess!!! Happy Halloween!!

PAIGE & MORGAN'S FIRST BYU GAME

I forgot to post this, well what do you expect with all the birthdays I've had to do in the last few days. Anyways, Jason and I took Paige and Morgan to Sat's BYU football game. Paige asked me after the first throw.."is this tackle football?" I laughed and laughed. They had a ball and were just as loud as everyone else. Oh and BYU won by the way!! GO COUGARS!!

Morgan is 11!!!

Well Morgan got the three things she wanted for her birthday...A ripstick, Tucanos for dinner and a soccer ball birthday cake (thanks to cody for the bowl and the black frosting) The cake was my first attempt at cake decorating, thank goodness Morgan was ok with it, I am NO pro. We actually gave Morgan her gift the night before her birthday so that Jason was home to see it. (He leaves for work while most of us are still in dream land) Morgan is a wonderful person. She has such a big heart and is a great sister. She is willing to help (most times) She loves to play soccer, go hunting and fishing with her dad, she loves to snow board, she loves to draw, she loves life!! She is awesome!! We love ya Morgan!!

PRESLIE IS 4!!!

Yep my little girl is 4. Preslie is such a joy to me. It was pretty scary 4 years ago when she joined our family. She was early and we almost had to transfer her to Utah Valley Medical Center into the NICU. It was hard to see her so tiny and having a hard time breathing. But two days later she came home with Jason and I and has been one of the greatest blessings in our lives.

New Family Members

Well I gave in...grrr. The kids cleaned and cleaned their room on Friday since they had the day olf from school and they were a big help to me because I attacked the storage room and de-junked that too. It was soooo good to fill up my car with 5 black bags and one big box full of treasures for someone else to find at the DI. And since they did such a great job I gave in and let them get hamsters. At least they paid for them themselves..ok fine I did buy a bag of sawdust and food and I plead the fifth on how the new cages got here. Paige named hers Pipper and Morgan's is Gus.

We had Elder Lofton, from Washington (on the left) and Elder Maxwell, from North Carolina, for dinner last night. What a bunch of great guys!! The girls were a little giddy but it was fun. They were telling jokes back and forth with the elders and had a ball. I watched my son playing around by them and wondered about his own mission. I know he's only 2 but before I know it, he will be out there too getting holes in his shoes. I thought I would take a picture of them and put it on my blog so my in-laws could see it. (they are on their mission in South Carolina). Come on people, lets keep these guys busy!!!

ALL BY MYSELF

Well Preslie came running into the living room today and was soooo excited. She came up to me, grabbed my hand, and said "Come here" I walked down the hall with her hand and hand. She led me to her room and in a very excited voice said, "See I made my bed all by myself today!" Sure enough she made her bed. It looks as good as the older girls make theres. My three year (almost 4 in Oct) is getting so big and amazes me with all her little chatter.

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS

I kept asking Mason what he wanted for breakfast and he kept going for the peanut butter. I grabbed the bread and he yelled "NO!!" I said, "You just want to eat peanut butter?" He said, "yes" so I grabbed him a spoon and he sat down and pretty much went to town. Well I guess he got his protein for the day.

Our Family Artist

Our town had the first Utah Wind Power Celebration. Rocky Mountain Power has some really really big windmills at the mouth of the canyon to collect energy when the wind blows. And for all of you who have been too or live in Spanish Fork, we know that there will be a ton of energy collected. There was a big celebration at the Reservoir. Thousands of kids in Elementary Schools across the state drew pictures to win a prize. My little artist Morgan was chosen as one of the winners. There were 80 kids in all that won. So we drove on up to the reservoir and she claimed her prize, which was a kite. At first her and her friends thought she might win a rip stick or a wii...LOL kids! She was still pretty happy to win, knowing that only 80 kids out of tonz could win. We sat there for a little bit and the kids all enjoyed dipping there feet in the water watching kites fly all over along with a jet ski in the water pulling 7 kites that a guy was maneuvering around. The kids had a blast. Way to go Morgan!!!

Family Picture Day

This isn't the picture I got for the house but thought I would just add it on here. The kids did awesome!! Mason thank goodness had a nap before we came and Preslie did a quick one on the way. My friend Wendi had taken pictures here before, its some guys house in Springville. We just kind of walked on his property and luckily didn't meet anyone with a shot gun telling us to get off. It was a nice place, he had a pond with swans in it, but the little boogers wouldn't come by us for our pictures. Mason had a blast picking up rocks and throwing them into the pond with all the coi(?) fish. I was just happy that no kid had any accidents before this day (remember Preslie meeting with the driveway the day before we were going to try family pictures earlier), of course we decided to hurry and do these on Saturday right after Jason got off the mountain from hunting and before the BYU football game started, oh ya and before we got hit by a major rain downpour that came in. It was a nice day to say the least. Man aren't we just the cutest family ever!!!

Paige & Morgan first day of school

The night before the big day I told her to get ready for bed and she got really nervous, knowing that the morning was coming really soon for her and she would have to face her fears of going to Junior High. The good thing was, 7th grade started a day before the 8th and 9th graders, so all the 7th graders could get to know there way around the school and such before all the others started. She got to have Wed off while the 8th and 9th graders started and then on Thursday they all go together. By the end of her first day she did say, "It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." I think she will do just fine.

I can't believe Morgan is in 5th grade this year...wow how time goes by so fast. Morgan was really excited to go to school, I personally think it's because of the new clothes. She has her best friend Erica in her class with her again this year so I think that really helped with her going back. I've never seen Morgan up and ready to go to school so early like I did this morning. We shall see how long that lasts.

IS IT WINTER?

Preslie and Mason went out this morning at about 9:30 to jump on the trampoline and play on the swings, she came in and said she was cold..umm hello its 78 out there. Anyways, she decided she needed her ski jacket on and her snow boots...strange kid I have, but I love her to death. Of course Mason had to follow her and grabbed a coat, thank goodness it wasn't a ski coat and the boots stayed off.

I SURVIVED GIRLS CAMP!!!

From July 29th -Aug 1st, I got to go with the girls in my ward to Girls Camp up Payson canyon to Camp KoHoLoWo. We had a blast!! I have the best girls in the world in my ward and it was so much fun to be with them. The theme was "Come hold your torches high" and each ward was given a country to represent. We were Germany. We had to learn the theme and I'm a Child of God in German. It was HARD.
One of the greatest moments was...I got to spend it with my daughter Paige. It was her first year at camp and she had a ball. I thought she would want to hang out with her dear ole mother but she actually went on her own and hung out with her friends. I enjoyed being with her those 4 days, I can't believe how big she is..just seems like yesturday I brought her home from the hospital.I was so happy to have my BF Wendi there with me. She is awesome and I love to hang out with her. We are like two peas in a pod. Scary huh? We are both just so excited to be alive, the bears didn't find us in our little tent. (there had been bear sightings before at this camp) The girls were all safe and sound in the cabin but the fire marshall wouldn't let more then 14 in a cabin so some of us roughed it and slept in tents. I'm thankful for all my leaders that came with me..THEY ROCK!! Thanks..Addie, Katie, Ronda, RaeAnn, Linda, and Wendi!!

(although I didn't need a new car to know how much he loves me) So this will be the Families Mormon Assault Wagon for many many years to come. Thanks BABE!!!

FISHING AT PETE'S HOLE

This last weekend we went to the Huntington Family Reunion. Jason drove us to Pete's Hole were he used to go as a kid. The kids wanted to do some fishing. Mason sat for a minute with the pole in his hand but soon got bored and had a better time throwing rocks into the lake.

Morgan was frustrated at first...she kept reeling in her line and wouldnt keep it out there, she said the wind kept blowing it back to shore. Finally she listened to her dad and WA LA looks what happened. Jason was actually having a hard time keeping up with the kids...fish were attacking as soon as the bait it the water.

Kurt came to the rescue for Paige..she caught her fish and Jason was busy getting Preslies fish off her line. Paige wanted to keep her fish but as soon as Kurt got it off the line it jumped, landed back in the lake and headed out to the middle...smart fish!

Preslie was the big winner of the day...she caught 4 fish and had a ball. She brought them in by herself, reeling slow but hey she did it!!! She wasn't so sure about touching the fish though and told her dad..."ok put it back in and let me catch another one". She did alot better then what I thought she would do.

PRESLIE MEETS THE DRIVEWAY

Preslie was out helping Dad with the trimming of the front yard tree. She would pick up all the banches he removed and throw them in the trashcan. Her feet wanted to do some dancing and she and the driveway got introduced as she was heading down to get some more branches.

Of course in a few days we were planning on doing our family pictures....oh well, maybe next week.

Dancing with Dad

Mason and Preslie had a blast dancing with their Dad. Mason, I think was having more fun just watching his dad fall....as you can tell by his delayed falling reaction when the song was over.

PAIGE DONE WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

wow!! I can't believe I will have a Junior High student next year...(man I'm getting old) This is Paige on her last day of 6th Grade, with her teacher Ms. Hilton who only taught the first part of the year. She moved and is now engaged to get married!! WTG Mary!!
This is Mrs.Lorensen who took over for the rest of the year. Paige had a hard time at first with the change of teachers but grew to really love having Mrs. Lorensen.

JUST LIKE DAD

Mason hurried and grabbed his lawn mower and followed Dad around the yard. What a big little guy we have.

Seriously, how cute is he?
